Much thanks for that link. I'll give that a go when I move over... or I'll just republish my old site in its current style and start fresh with Wordpress!

I would like the ability to remote publish too.

Keeping the original material really it's an issue with wordpress (or almost any other real blogging platform) since you can just make database backups.

In any case, the local box thing doesn't work for me since I float between my work machine and my home machine. I need a fully online solution.

If you ever do think of switching, I found a how to switch from Radio Userland to Wordpress.

Radio is pretty cool. I like the way it runs a server on your local box to do its thing, and you keep the original material.

The biggest prob for me is re-doing a couple of years worth of posts, pix, and files, and other sites losing the deep links to my pages...currently going to the Userland server.

I got a bit on my plate, so it won't be happening anytime soon. I've heard good stuff about Godaddy, I like Open Source software, and just need to bite the bullet. Thanks for the offer, 'tho.

My brother is on Flickr and loves it. I want to make T-Shirts with his Flickr name on it, since he does a lot of shots in public.

Radio Userland looks interesting, though I like more flexibility, which I why i just have a generic webhosting service with godaddy and use the free opensource Wordpress. I really have nothing but praise for Wordpress.

Actually, John, if your interested in playing around with wp, I have a testing blog setup that I can email you the login info for. You could also just signup for a wordpress.com site but then you'd couldn't mess around with the css for the templates.

I'll be curious to here more on your experiences. I've been a Radio Userland fan for a long while, and I like cheap hosting, but an itching to try some new tools.

Thanks for posting-
